Shakespeare in Dublin

Sir, – In her very interesting interview with Aidan Gillen (January 4th), Catherine Conroy writes that "He first heard The Dead read aloud 50 metres up the road in the Dublin Shakespeare Society basement". She quotes Aidan: "I did some of my first plays in there. It's not there anymore."

While the Dublin Shakespeare Society (founded 1907) is no longer in North Great George’s Street, it is still very much alive and thriving. It is now based at the the Teachers’ Club, 36 Parnell Square.

And, of course, congratulations to Aidan on his continued success. – Yours, etc,

LOUIS O’BYRNE,
