Madam, - While honeymooning recently in Thailand, my wife and I decided to visit the tiny, remote island of Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand, reachable only by boat. We stayed for a number of days, enjoying spectacular scenery and possibly the friendliest people on earth.
To be sure, there were a number of privations due to the remoteness of the spot. In some places electricity was available only from dusk until dawn, hot water wasn't guaranteed, and air conditioning was at a premium; and yet the inhabitants had one advantage still not available in the Wicklow village where we live. Everyone had consistent and cheap access to broadband. - Yours, etc,
THOMAS MOSS, Bay View Close, Kilcoole, Co Wicklow.
