Sir, – A few years ago I visited the German war cemetery at Glencree, Co Wicklow. Among other commemorative wreaths was one from the British Legion. This gesture from former enemies puts to shame those objecting to the Remembrance Wall at Glasnevin Cemetery and brings to mind Robert Burns’s description of a “sulky, sullen dame . . . nursing her wrath to keep it warm”. – Yours, etc,
BARRY O’FLYNN,
Kilcoole, Co Wicklow.
