Madam, - Recently your paper carried a series on "Ireland's regional capitals".
It ran for five successive days, featuring Sligo, Waterford, Galway, Limerick and Cork. Two weeks have passed and I can only conclude that The Irish Times no longer considers Derry and Belfast to be regional capitals of Ireland, though Derry is larger than some and Belfast larger than all of the cities listed.
Have the battles of Cuchulainn against Queen Maebh not been forgotten? - Yours, etc.,
