A chara, - The PDs have long claimed to be the true "liberal" party of Ireland. Indeed, Des O'Malley finally split with Fianna Fail over contraception, when he famously promised to "stand by the Republic".
Clearly today's PDs have abandoned both liberalism and the Republic as they seem to have thrown their lot in with Fianna Fail, Youth Defence and their illiberal friends in supporting another abortion referendum (The Irish Times, November 1st).
The PDs are far from being radical, and are fast becoming redundant. - Is mise,
