Sir, - In your edition of May 16th, under the line "Star shortage" chronicling the Dublin première of Star Wars, your reporter Roisín Ingle correctly stated that "even actor Aidan Quinn don't have quite the pulling power of Ewan McGregor". What was incorrect was the assertion that I was at this première at all. Having had a long day that involved throwing myself repeatedly into a pile of Wicklow's finest cow dung, I was happily ensconced in a pint of porter thinking to myself, "Wasn't it great that we worked late - and I don't have to go to that première and deal with all that media crap!" - Yours, etc.,
