Madam, - I read with interest Dr Eamonn Maher's recent article entitled "A Prophetic Witness from the Church of Ireland" (Rite and Reason, December 4th). This dealt with a study entitle A Whisper of God: Essays on post Catholic Ireland & the Christian Futureby Most Rev Richard Clarke, Church of Ireland Bishop of Meath.
Dr Maher felt it would be beneficial if one of the Roman Catholic bishops now emerged to provide a similar witness. That (arch-)bishop emerged some weeks ago in a book entitled Moving On?by Caoiriona Mc Clean along with 11 other witnesses - parish priests, curates, a nun, a woman primary teacher, and a married priest. The book is available at Veritas.
