Paisley's remarks on gays

Madam, - Patrick Molloy's defence of Ian Paisley jnr's remarks about gays and lesbians refers to "natural law". Mr Molloy might want to check his sources before claiming natural law supports homophobic positions.

Scientific findings document homosexual behaviour among hundreds of species, particularly marine birds and mammals, monkeys and the great apes, but including male sheep and female cattle.

As for his objection to allowing lesbians and gay men to marry and adopt children, same-sex partners in Ireland and throughout the world, including myself, have either adopted or parented their own biological children to happy and successful adulthood. Truly, what is "anti-family" are attitudes like Mr Molloy's that subject the innocent children of lesbians and gays to their reprehensible attitudes and stigma. - Yours, etc,
