Madam, - A spokeswoman for the Dublin Airport Authority says that "at the moment the airport cannot cope with large, unexpected numbers of passengers" (The Irish Times, June 7th).

I believe that the airport cannot cope with large numbers of expected passengers. How could the DAA not know that it would need planning permission to erect a marquee on the roof of a car park ?

The mess and chaos that is Dublin airport just trundles on from one crisis to another, as it has for many years. Perhaps it is time to disband the present authority and management team and replace it with a dynamic and proactive group. - Yours, etc,
