Madam, - I wept when I heard that the Coadjutor Archbishop of Dublin, Dr Diarmuid Martin had reasserted the exclusion of women from ordained ministries. But then I prayed and I remembered that the ordination of women, as well as men, is the work of the Holy Spirit .

When it comes to ordination in the Roman Catholic Church women are today exactly in the same position as gentiles were in the early days of the Church. Jewish Christian leaders such as Peter had to witness the Holy Spirit descending on the gentile Cornelius to discover that "God has no favourite." (Acts 10:34.) Come, Holy Spirit! - Yours, etc.,
