Oireachtas banking inquiry

Sir, – The farce that is the banking inquiry rumbles on, with the committee members scrambling to save face and produce a report. Having wasted taxpayers’ money, and time that should have been spent dealing with legislation, it is obvious that nothing will be achieved by this inquiry. Politicians have unashamedly used the public hearings to score points off each other and to raise their profile in advance of the general election. – Yours, etc,

TERRY DOYLE,

Leixlip, Co Kildare.
