Sir, - Will somebody in authority explain to your readers the logic of the planned demolition of the nurses' accommodation building on the campus of St Vincent's University Hospital at Elm Park, when a massive shortage of suitable student accommodation exists on the nearby University College campus at Belfield? It seems odd to me that the hospital, now a teaching facility of the college, plans the demolition of a perfectly good and useful building when students of the same college cannot find suitable accommodation within walking distance.
The destruction of this building ought to be stopped now. It should be renovated to be occupied by students which is, after all, what it was built for. - Yours, etc.,
