Sir, - I am infuriated at the accessibility and promotion of pornographic magazines such as Loaded, FHM and Maxim by city centre retailers. Newsagent shops within a stone's throw of O'Connell Bridge are displaying these magazines in their windows, and on the lower shelves of their magazine racks.
It is alarming how children and vulnerable people are being exposed without choice to this pornography. Some may say it is harmless, but I argue that large problems always begin in small, harmless ways.
Surely the retailers must bear responsibility for the way in which they display this type of magazine. Respectable citizens and concerned parents of this city owe it to themselves to ensure that these magazines are kept only within sight and reach of responsible adults. - Yours, etc.,
