Madam, - Declan Kiberd (Opinion, December 19th) regrets that the numerous other nationalities living in Ireland do not seem to have a place in contemporary Irish literature.

He will be pleased to know that in my novel, The Free And Easy, published this year, other nationalities are very present and a Moldovan, Vasile, is a noteworthy character. - Yours, etc,
