Sir, - It is sad to think that after so many proud days at Lansdowne Road watching Ireland's footballers do their stuff that I felt disgusted after Wednesday night's good win. It was not the players that embarrassed me, but the mindless idiots who booed one of the Danish players persistently because they believed he played for Glasgow Rangers. Surely this kind of stupidity can be left for the terraces in Glasgow. To compound matters, the player in question does not even play for Rangers.
I am probably insulting a good paper like The Irish Times in thinking that the fools who behaved like that have the IQ to read. - Yours, etc.,
