IRELAND'S DRINK PROBLEM

MEG MacMAHON,

MEG MacMAHON,

Madam, - Speaking for myself - and I'm sure many others - I know that if I want to meet up with friends at night, I have no choice but to do so in a pub.

I think it would ease our needless dependence on drink if there were more cafés open at night where people could go and have a cup of tea or coffee with friends rather than annihilate themselves with drink. - Yours, etc.,

MEG MacMAHON,

Sandymount Green,

Dublin 4.
