Madam, - I'm puzzled. Are the National Roads Authority (NRA) and the Department of the Environment's Heritage Service one and the same - or are they just swapping roles?
I learn that the NRA now proudly boasts to be the largest "investor" in archaeology in the State.
Stranger still, the Heritage Service, at the NRA's request, has rendered the National Monuments Act impotent in order to clear the ground (quite literally) for road development.
To reflect this new-found spirit of co-operation, should they not also consider merging into the National Heritage Authority and Roads Service? - Yours, etc.,
