Madam, - "It is obviously in everybody's interest that housing supply is maintained at a level consistent with demand." (Ciaran Ryan, director, Irish Home Builders Association, December 13th).

Excuse my lack of perspicacity, but would not the classic laws of supply and demand indicate otherwise?

But then it is equally obvious that the Irish Home Builders' Association is a benevolent society set up to advance the interests of those "eventual losers", the house buyers. - Yours, etc.,
