Sir, - Quite recently, on the Marian Finucane Show, I heard a young lady from North Kerry make a strong case for the allocation of more money for road improvements there. She quoted in support of her argument, more power to her, that Kerry was the fourth largest county in Ireland.

I wonder, then, why Cork, the largest county in Ireland, is allocated the least amount of money for its roads. Is there any reason for this ridiculous situation?
