Madam, - I see publicans are claiming the smoking ban is causing revenue to drop. Might I suggest that, like any other business, they engage in activities that will draw the crowds back?
Every business has to compete for customers, and in doing so, some offer cheaper goods, some offer a better service, and there are many more ingenious methods in use.
With that in mind, might I suggest that the VFI, instead of increasing the price of drink and food and fleecing their customers, do the opposite? A drop in the price of drink and "pub grub" would be most refreshing. And rest assured, I would drink to that. - Yours, etc.,
