Sir, –The letter (August 26th) from Ken Crowley, regarding the audio level in cinemas, elicits my deepest sympathy.
My last foray to the cinema was to see that epitome of crash, bang, wallop films, Sense and Sensibility.
I reeled from the auditorium with my ears ringing – the trotting pony sounded like a scene from The Charge of the Light Brigade, and demure ladies like stentorian sergeant majors. I have not been back! – Yours, etc,
