Madam, - I feel sure that you treasure Martyn Turner's work as much as do your readers. His superb combining of the topical and the seasonal in his Dublin Port Tunnel cartoon of December 22nd had me hysterical with laughter.
Sadly, however, we should not be amused by the expensive folly, the sheer stupidity of this latest improvement to our city, which amounts to a new overflow extension of the M50 car park.
Perhaps the tunnel may be made to work after a fashion but the need for compulsory use is a realistic measure of its success. - Yours, etc,
