Madam, - John Stafford (September 25th) refers to the CO2 emissions from nuclear power only from the period of building, operating and decommisioning reactors. He makes no reference to the mining of the ore, the extraction of uranium and its active isotope.
He is also silent on the subject of long-life waste. This is a terrible legacy which we are leaving for future generations. - Yours, etc,
