Sir, - To D.J. O'Gorman's suggestion (August 5th) that all clergy should return to their traditional mode of dress, I would reply that those who don civilian garb have done just that. Chief among those so garbed was Jesus Himself, as were his apostles and disciples, men and women.
I find myself honoured that Father r Sean Healy, so highly qualified, should dress like the Church - the People of God, "half-baked idiots" that we may be in some folks' eyes. - Yours, etc.,
