Armagh event and progress

Sir, – Is it not paradoxical in the complex realm in the politics of Northern Ireland, that certain elements of unionism, who, in the not too recent past, would have been appalled that the President of Ireland was invited to anything on “Northern Irish soil” and who would have threatened to boycott the event, are now appalled that the President declines such an invitation?

This is progress, Northern Ireland politics style ?
