Sir, - Kevin Myers (An Irishman's Diary, April 12th) suggests that, rather than campaigning against the Sellafield nuclear plant, An Post should stick to delivering letters. However, they don't always do that very well.
For several weeks last autumn, for reasons best known to themselves, an Post returned all of my mail to sender. Getting no bills through my letter-box seemed like heaven, until I had to sort out the resulting mess. After several telephone calls, my mail started to arrive again, only to begin disappearing into a black hole again in February.
My mail service has since resumed, but there is no sign of any explanation or apology from An Post in response to my written complaint.
If it's up to An Post to get Sellafield closed down, I suggest we all buy a Geiger counter. - Is mise,
Angus Bell, Glenageary Lodge, Glenageary, Co Dublin.
