Madam, - I propose renaming the "Spire of Dublin" after Constance Markievicz. Along with being a pioneer of womens' rights in this country, Markievicz was a person who spent much of her life helping the poorest and most vulnerable of Irish society. Naming the monument after Markievicz would be an important reminder to all those who pass it that generosity and humanity are characteristics still very much valued by the Irish people. -
