A case for the North Atlantic Isles?

Sir, – Further to recent comments on the notion of “The North Atlantic Isles” and particularly Emmet O’Connell’s statement (May 24th) that such a grouping could have its own currency and a monetary policy not dominated by Central Europe, let us be clear about some features of such a future. The currency would be the pound sterling and monetary policy would be determined by the Bank of England. – Yours, etc,

ERIC O’BRIEN,

The Avenue, Broadale,

Douglas, Cork.
