Sir, – Greg Scanlon makes clear his disapproval of the “listening experience” brought about by playing “an inane jingle” on the background of the RTÉ Radio 1 weather forecast. (Letters, August 21st).

I’m just grateful that the same treatment has not been applied to the Angelus. Yet. – Yours, etc,
