We’ll miss the sun when Ireland reverts to type

Instead of complaining about the heat, why not embrace it?

Sir, – What is wrong with some Irish people? I’m specifically referring to the ones who complain about this glorious weather.

This is Ireland. We usually get 2.5 days of sunshine in the summer. It’s not like the rest of Europe, some of which is sweltering in heat of up to 40 degrees. Our UK friends find themselves tolerating temperatures about 10 degrees higher than in Ireland.

The warm weather will be gone soon, so relax, enjoy the sun on your skin and the balmy evening breezes. – Yours, etc,
