Sir, – One thing the Government could do in 2026 that would improve the lives of young people would be to introduce driving lessons in secondary schools.

All pupils should have a driving licence as part of their Leaving Certificate. A full year’s training including theory and practical lessons mean that they would leave school confident and skilful drivers.

There would be fewer accidents and deaths on our roads as a result. – Yours, etc,
