Recognising Palestine

Sir, – The decision of the Irish Government (along with Spain, Slovenia and Malta) to nominate May 21st as the date for recognising a State of Palestine means we shall need to find a name for that day (“Ireland moving forward with plans to recognise Palestinian state in coming weeks, says Tánaiste”, News, May 8th). “Rewarding Hamas for Terrorism Day” seems appropriate, although lacks brevity.
