Sir, – Let us follow Una Mullally’s direction and storm the Conor Pass (“If you think €10 million is pricey for the Conor Pass, try going on Daft”, Opinion & Analysis, August 7th).
By us, I mean all those households who supported their environment in the “plant a tree” venture of 20-odd years ago. Surely we can find 250,000 individuals or households who will contribute an average of €40 each, for a share. There might even be a exchequer incentive if for every €40 one contributed there would be a €100 benefit in estate duty and the share would then pass to the State.
