Sir, – Further to Mary Gallagher’s letter (July 31st), on a holiday in Donegal this May we visited the Grianán of Aileach and Wild Ireland at nearby Burnfoot. At Burt, I was delighted to spot the distinctive St Aengus’s Church as one designed by Liam McCormick. We called in to pay homage but like your previous contributors, found no information about the building inside the church. An engraved glass window at the entrance displayed Liam McCormick’s name and several other names in Irish.
I am resolved to revisit Donegal and make a pilgrimage to the remaining six churches. – Yours, etc,
