Sir, – I have sympathy with Paul O’Beirne (Letters, July 19th) and the alarming increase in price of the humble bread roll with fillings (cheese and tomato). May I suggest that in future he buys a loaf of bread, a batch of tomatoes and a slab of cheese. He will then have, for the best part of the week, the ingredients for a cost-efficient meal each day.
