Sir, – If the Government parties abolish the temporary USC in the 2024 budget, they have a chance of being re-elected. If they do not abolish it, they have no chance of being re-elected. Sinn Féin, in power, knowing which way the wind is blowing will half way through its term, abolish it. Sinn Féin will then have a good chance of being re-elected for a second term. This Government can look forward to 10 years in opposition.– Yours, etc,
JOHN McKEOWN,
Waterford.
