Sir, – Describing child sex abuse as “historical” is a constant feature of your newspaper, in common with other media. Although the perpetrators may be dead or the institutions shuttered, the abuse cannot be described as “historical” as long as a single survivor is alive and dealing every day with the consequences.
For them, regrettably, it cannot be consigned to the past, the very definition of history. – Yours, etc,
