Sir, – I work in the area of providing recycling services to pharmaceutical companies throughout the country. I am therefore perplexed by the upcoming changes to benefit in kind (BIK) rates for company cars, which rewards drivers for driving more.
The very high rates of BIK will only reduce to a less extortionate rate if a driver exceeds 54,000 kilometres per year.
This flies in the face of all logic.
I hope our new reshuffled Government will see sense and change these ridiculous rates before even more harm is inflicted on the environment. – Yours, etc,
