Job losses in the tech sector

Sir, – While no one likes to hear of job losses in any sector, it seems media outlets are catastrophising the situation in our tech industry.

Recent negative coverage, including criticism of employment law practices, appears unwarranted, given the high profile of the companies concerned and their previous positive employment track record in Ireland and globally.

Employees in the tech sector are very well paid and with their skill set will have no difficulty finding alternative employment, should that be necessary.

Perhaps our economy, with its near-chronic capacity constraints, and the planet could do with a little correction or cooling off until we gear up for the green and clean tech jobs to flow ? – Yours, etc,
