Sir, – I am aware that Dublin City Council has adopted a “rewilding policy” for the city’s parks, which appears laudable.
However, from what I see on footpaths, traffic islands, street and road verges and just about everywhere else, the council appears to have adopted this policy across the entire city!
Dublin has enough challenges to its appearance from litter, grubby pavements, graffiti, dereliction, poorly maintained street and road surfaces and faded road markings, damaged and defaced street furniture, without adding this blight to the list.
I doubt this (and the other issues) would be tolerated in any other European capital. – Yours, etc,
