Sir, – In common with many people who grew up in Dublin in the 1960s and 1970s, I was sad to read of the death of Patricia Cahill (“A household name in light entertainment known for her duet with Maureen Potter”, Obituaries, May 28th).
Many thanks to the writer of the well-written obituary which is, in itself, a great tribute to this talented singer from Drimnagh.
I can still feel the spine-tingling sensation whenever I hear Patricia and Maureen Potter singing Moonlight and Roses, which I first heard in the Gaiety Theatre many years ago.
I look forward to sometime in the future, when I hope to hear Patricia and Maureen sing it again, at which point I will know I’m in Heaven. – Yours, etc,
