An article in last Wednesday’s edition, concerning the Stokes brothers and their private members’ club in Dublin, said that they sold the Clarendon pub in a sale and leaseback deal. Mr Niall Lawless has pointed out that he is leasing the Clarendon pub and that it is not involved with the Stokes brothers.
An article in the edition of December 1st last, concerning a court appeal against a refusal to renew firearms licences, said that the Firearms Act 2009 effectively banned all handguns and short-barrelled guns with the exception of Olympic competition .22 calibre guns. In fact, there are other exceptions, in particular where the applicant held a firearm certificate for the firearm on or before November 19th, 2008.
