A 19-year-old Co Waterford woman was refused bail when she appeared at Cork District Court yesterday charged with taking a baby from the care of its mother at the Erinville Hospital, Cork, last Sunday. Judge Uinsinn Mac Gruairc was told by the solicitor acting for Ms Susan McGovern, Ballinamult, Dungarvan, Co Waterford, that his client lived with her parents.
Sgt Joe O'Connor objected to bail saying the charge was serious and there was evidence Ms McGovern did not have a fixed address. Judge Mac Gruairc agreed to hear further bail evidence today.
