Westmeath food firm Mr Crumb wins award

Westmeath-based food manufacturer Mr Crumb has scooped the first overall Small Firms' Association (SFA) Small Business Award.

Westmeath-based food manufacturer Mr Crumb has scooped the first overall Small Firms' Association (SFA) Small Business Award.

The prize included a €15,000 cash prize, a lifetime membership to the SFA and a financial health check from the Bank of Ireland.

The prize-giving ceremony took place in the Berkley Court Hotel last night, and was attended by the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern.

Mr Crumb also took the top award in the Manufacturing category at last night's ceremony. Founded in 1996, Mr Crumb is a speciality food company that employs 30 people.

Other winners included Daft.ie in the Outstanding Small Business category, and the Park Hotel in Kenmare in the Service category.
