Dublin

Anne Street North is closed until Wednesday. Traffic on North King Street diverts via Beresford Street North, Mary's Lane and George's Hill. Traffic on Mary's Lane diverts via Beresford Street on to North King Street.

ESB works continue on Merrion Row to Merrion Place, Schoolhouse Lane to Stephen's Green, Kildare Street to Merrion Street Upper and from the ESB substation there to Kildare Street. Disruption is expected in the Parkgate Street area where the ESB is laying ducts until September 14th.

Blackhall Street remains closed until October. Southbound traffic is diverted via Hendrick Street and northbound traffic via North King Street.

Watergate Street will close near the Cork Road junction in Bandon this weekend. Alternative routes suggested are via Kilbeg and Innishannon, or via Kilbeg and Kilpatrick.

Kilkenny

Kilkenny Arts Festival finishes on Sunday. Expect traffic delays over the weekend.

Longford

Keenagh Heritage Weekend will cause restrictions on Main Street as street concerts are being held each night.

Limerick

Traffic disruption is expected in Foynes this weekend due to the Powers Irish Coffee Festival. The N69 closes this evening from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. between Barracks Cross and Leahies Cross. Main Street will close on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Offaly

Birr Vintage Week continues to bring traffic into the town. Delays can be expected until Sunday.

Air Travel

Over 190,000 passengers are expected to pass through Dublin Airport this weekend. More than 240 sun charter flights have been added to the normal schedule for the next two days. Tomorrow Aer Rianta expects to handle more than 66,000 passengers. Passengers are encouraged to allow themselves plenty of time to reach the airport.

Bus Eireann

Bus Eireann has laid on special buses for the Fairyhouse races on Saturday and the Curragh races on Sunday. Buses for both destinations leave from Bus Aras, 1 1/2 hours before the first race.

Road Deaths

Two people were killed on Irish roads this week, bringing the total road deaths during August to 20. To date this year, 255 people have been killed in road accidents.
