London - The cannabis controversy grew yesterday after a survey showed that the drug is more widely used in the UK than anywhere else in Europe. Up to 40 per cent of schoolchildren have tried cannabis.
Ireland and Holland are close to Britain with a usage rate in schools of between 30-40 per cent. --(PA)
