Two young men are recovering in hospital after separate overnight incidents in Co Cavan and Co Tipperary.
In Kingscourt, Co Cavan, a man (28) suffered serious injuries at about 3.30am.
The Garda Forensics Team is due to investigate whether the man was injured during an assault or after being struck by a vehicle. He is in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.
In Clonmel, a man in his early thirties is being treated in hospital for injuries arising from an assault on Gladstone St at 3am. Gardai are investigating the attack.
