Two people were killed and three injured when a cargo train overturned in Ankara railway station today.

The crash happened after the cargo train's brakes failed as it entered the station, causing it to hit with a stationary train, the state Anatolian news agency said.

Last July, 39 people were killed when a new, high-speed train between Ankara and Istanbul jumped the tracks.

A month later, eight people were killed on the same line when two trains ploughed headlong into each other.
