Two men have been arrested in Co Kildare as part of a garda investigation into ATM fraud.

Two men have been arrested in Co Kildare as part of a garda investigation into ATM fraud.

Gardaí were investigating incidents of suspected ATM skimming, where hidden or obscured devices are used to record information stored on credit cards and bank cards.

The arrests were made at Sallins Road, Naas at about 6.45pm yesterday after a surveillance operation was put in place.

The two males, both of whom are in their 30's, were taken to Naas Garda Station and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A number of items of evidence were seized along with a vehicle.
