The chairman of an organisation set up to support survivors of residential abuse has claimed before the High Court he has been threatened by a group of individuals who, it is claimed, are seeking to take over the running of the organisation.

Noel C Barry, chairman of the Cork-based Right of Place/Second Chance group, claims he had earlier this month found a bread knife stuck in his desk. On an ex-parte application (only one side represented), Ms Justice Mary Laffoy granted a temporary injunction restraining a number of individuals from trespassing or causing a nuisance at the organisation’s offices on Lower Glanmire Road, Cork.
